Information Services Center(ISC) was established at Peshawar Campus in March 2004. The idea was to provide widespread Internet and Intranet facility to UET. ISC is equipped with the best available hardware and data resources. ISC has a dedicated 4mb fiber optic-line from NTC, and a separate 1mb dedicated downlink to serve the data needs of all the campuses. All the three remote campuses have a separate 1mb downlink.
All the universities computing and data facilities are operated by the ISC. All the departments and offices of the campuses are connected to the Internet through the ISC.
The following services are provided by ISC:
Internet Facility for the Remote Campuses
ISC is providing Internet facility to all the three remote campuses of the UET. The remote campuses are connected to the Internet through the ISC servers. The remote campuses and main campus forms an intranet and are controlled through a centralized system.
University Official Web Mail
ISC is hosting its own mail system to serve the mailing needs of UET. All the administrative staff and faculty are registered with UET official web mail. The UET web mail service allows to access UET e-mail account from anywhere in the world via a standard web browser. Soon this facility would be provided to students of UET also.
Web Publishing
The ISC is also responsible for development, maintenance and operation of the UET official web portal. The web portal has information regarding admissions, academic programmers, latest events and online news achieve.
Web News Archive (Online News)
The UET web portal has separate news publication section, containing latest news and events to keep the world informed about our activities.
Web space
The ISC also provides dedicated web space to all the faculty members to store and share data.
Online Student/Teacher Communication Portal
ISC is hosting an Online Student/Teacher Communication Portal to facilitate student teacher communication. The portal has the facility to provide separate sub domains to all faculty members for each and every subject they teach. The teachers can upload assignments, projects, books, comments, links etc. online for the students to access. Likewise the students have the facility to post assignments, projects and communicate with the teachers. The system is the testing phase and will be launched very soon.

Online Faculty Profile Management
The faculty members have been facilitated by publishing their professional profile live on the Internet to help them interact with international students and universities.
Maintenance and Trouble Shooting Response Center
The ISC is providing services to the whole university when it comes to troubleshooting and maintenance. The dedicated support persons are available for help throughout the university timings and can be made available after the university timing on special request.

Internet Facility to Hostels
All the hostels of the UET main campus would be connected to the Internet. For this purpose the infrastructure has been developed and the connectivity will start soon.
Wireless Internet
ISC would be providing wireless Internet facility throughout the main campus. This would give freedom to roam with computers anywhere within range of the access point. For this purpose the wireless access points have been installed and are in the testing phase.
Voice Over IP Services
ISC is planning to implement VOIP(voice over internet protocol) solution for UET main and remote campuses. This solution would be based on our existing network architecture and would facilitate communication between campuses with no cost.
