: A one-day seminar on wireless technology was held here today at NWFP University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar today. The Vice Chancellor NWFP UET, Engr. Syed Imtiaz Hussain Gilani was the chief guest on the occasion. The seminar was organized by UET Computer Society.
Dr. M. Inayatullah Khan Babar, Chairman CS & IT and the organizer of the seminar, while highlighting the significance of the wireless technology told that the advantages of this technology are mobility, better use of power, fast data sharing and connectivity like CDMA, Bluetooth, and GSM which are the emerging technologies and briefed about the infrastructure and efficiency of the wireless, networking and the way it works. He also briefed about the security system of this technology and told the audience that no such sound research has been done so far which proves that wireless devices are harmful to human health.
The Vice Chancellor while addressing on the occasion said that UET Peshawar is already working on wireless technology, such as video conferencing, wireless intranet. He appreciated the efforts of the organizers and said that such seminars would benefit the students in keeping them updated about the emerging technologies.
Besides other senior faculty members, Lt. Col (Retd) Imtiaz Ahmad Durrani (Registrar) and a large number of students were also present on the occasion.
