Medicines Sans Frontiers (MSF) donated a Water Purification Unit to UET Peshawar

The Medicines Sans Frontiers (MSF), a Holland-based medical humanitarian organization, has donated a Water Purification Unit to UET Peshawar. The unit will be used in research and teaching, both by students and faculty, announced by Vice Chancellor, Engr. Syed Imtiaz Hussain Gilani during handing over ceremony, held here on March 28, 2007.
John Armstrong, Project Coordinator, MSF, handed over the unit to Imtiaz Gilani. He said the Unit worth 40,000 Euro’s was initially used for water purification purposes in the Northern Areas (Kashmir), after the October 2005 earthquake.
Vice Chancellor appreciated MSF for the noble cause they were doing in Pakistan and selecting UET Peshawar. For this donation he said the unit, installed in the Department of Chemical Engineering, will also be used to supply clean drinkable water to the University.
