Central Development Working Party (CDWP) of the planning commission, GoP, has approved UETs project titled Establishment of Jalozai Campus. The project cost is Rs. 6.5 billion, and shall be forwarded to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for final approval.
The vice chancellor has expressed his sincere thanks to Deputy Chairman Planning Commission, Dr. Akram Sheikh, Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman and Governor NWFP / Chancellor of the University, Lt. Gen. (Retd) Ali Mohammad Jan Aurakzai, and the Government of NWFP for extending generous support to the university in successful planning and approval of the project. It is a matter of privilege and honour for the university, as well as the province, to get approval for this gigantic project in the higher education sector. This project is part of a major initiative taken by the present government to help improve the standard of engineering education in the province and the country.
Jalaozai Campus will be established on 350 acres of land in village Jalozai, and shall cater to more than three thousand live-in students. This campus will be of world class standards; and will take seven years to complete. Main components of the project include infrastructure development, that will be completed in four year time, where as faculty development (PhDs ) will be completed in seven years .
