Prize distribution ceremony

Peshawar March 03: Mr. Kashif Khan, student of Computer Sciences and IT, has been awarded with certificate and cash award of Rs.15000/ for developing a software on Evaluation of Capacity Gap Test by Decentralization Support Program, for the Finance Department, GoNWFP, while four students of Mechanical Engineering Department, led by Mr. Maftooh-ur-Rehman, won first prize for Developing Sugar Cane Plant in a competition organized by NUST.

In his address, Chairman of the department, Dr. Innayat Ullah Khan Babar said the department of CS & IT, by combining theory with real-world application, empower students with the critical knowledge and skills necessary to become experts in their fields. Students have successfully developed software on Faculty Evaluation System and Digitization of Student Records, which have been incorporated in the Campus Management Solutions, an HEC funded project of Rs. 6 million. This reflects quality teaching, and competency of students, whose efforts have been recognized by HEC to incorporate them in the CMS Project, aimed to digitize the admission process and student records of UET. He appreciated the support of the vice chancellor, under whom the university is moving fast to achieve its goals of academic excellence.

The vice chancellor, Imtiaz H. Gilani, later gave away awards to the winners, and stressed the need to show punctuality as this is the key to success in any field.
