Faculty Development Program to the University of Glasgow
News Issue Date: 18.04.2008
NWFP UET will send scholars under its Faculty Development Program to the University of Glasgow, to pursue higher education in Fall semester this year. This was decided in a meeting held between the vice chancellor, Mr. Imtiaz Hussain Gilani, and a three-member delegation of University of Glasgow and University of Surrey, UK, led by Director International Marketing and Postgraduate Studies of University of Glasgow, Dr. Sharne Proctor.
Different fields of specialization in engineering will be decided later by the partnering institutions while looking into their rankings, so that UET could send scholars to high-rated departments.
The vice chancellor said that UET has to send 200 scholars overseas for Ph.D courses. Already 35 scholars have been selected for US institutions while a lot have to be placed in the Jalozai Campus Project in future. We are very comfortable with UK universities that, had accommodated a large number of scholars in other programme, and shown a good academic performance. We hope to send more scholars to UK universities, with the consultancy support of Mr. Munir Lone, Director, Campus Consultancy Services (CCS), he added.
