The Vice Chancellor NWFP University of Engineering and Technology, Syed Imtiaz Hussain Gilani inaugurated Spring Tree Plantation 2009 by planting a sapling of “Araucaria” near the main administration block of UET Main Campus Peshawar.
Afterwards they prayed for the nation’s prosperity and solidarity and said that plantation is our national obligation, which is not only essential for environment but also plays an important role in the stability of national economy. He urged the participants to participate in the plantation campaign whole heartedly. During this campaign thousands of saplings will be planted in the allied campuses of NWFP UET.
Prof. Dr. Azzam-ul-Asr, Dean Faculty of Engineering, Registrar Col (R) Imtiaz Ahmad Khan, Advisor Finance and Planning, Muhammad Sarwar Khan also planted saplings while all the chairmen and heads of departments were present on the occasion.
