NWFP UET, TROJANS AND INFOCAD CONDUCT A SEMINAR ON ADVANCE MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGIES

NWFP University of Engineering & Technology, Peshawar, Trojans and InfoCad, Greece conducted a seminar on Winning Product Development Through Using Cutting Edge Technologies, at PC Lahore.
The objective of the seminar was to brief the local manufacturers on the latest technologies available to improve the quality of their products and make it competitive in the international market. Leading technologists of the world were invited as guest speakers.
Mr. Scott Crump, CEO STRATASYS, USA, briefed the participants about the advantages of developing prototypes in lesser time using the rapid prototyping technology.
Mr. Inayat Ali Shah representing Virtalis, UK informed the participants about the role of virtual reality in product design and development by presenting several case_studies of different international companies.
Mr. Shahid Rafiq, CEO, Trojans, stressed the need for Pakistani industrialists to use latest technologies to bring their product quality at par with international standards.
The NWFP UET team was represented by Prof. Dr. M. Irfan, Chairman, Mechanical Engineering Department, who was the keynote speaker on the occasion. He briefed the participants about the challenges of product design and development and introduced the capabilities of Advance Technical Research Resource Center at NWFP UET Peshawar. This seminar was the first of its kind in Pakistan which was conducted through a partnership between the UET Peshawar and industry with foreign linkages. Large number of leading industrialists and manufacturers attended the seminar.
